I am from Connecticut. I graduated from the Metropolitan Learning Center of International and Global Studies. I am the eldest son of two Jamaican parents; I have a younger sister that currently attends my former high school.
I am a junior majoring in both Legal Studies and Marketing, in the Fox School of Business. Growing up I often changed my mind on what I wanted to do when I grew up, but I know, whatever I end up doing, I want to be involved in the community I live in. Upon graduating college, I would like to begin my career in marketing, eventually returning to school to either receive my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Juris Doctorate (JD).
Growing up I played many different sports, which I feel is the underlying cause for my competitive nature and what has shaped me into the person I am today. No matter what the activity is, I want to do my best and give it my full effort. I take advantage of the opportunities provided, in an effort to gain a wide range of life experiences. In return, I would like to be involved in my community’s little league program, so that I can inspire young children like me.
An experience that has given me great perspective was a three week trip to Japan following the completion of my 8th grade year. This was my first real trip away from home, and it was my first time on a plane. Imagine your first plane ride being a 17 hour trip to Japan. The trip consisted of tours at various cultural sites, classroom visits, staying at the Olympic village, and a short home stay. On this trip, I learned a lot about Japanese culture in addition to learning a lot about myself.
