Work Experience

ASCSOffice Assistant

My first official job while growing up was working as an Office Assistant at Advanced Chiropractic and Spine Center in Souderton PA. While working here my main responsibilities were to communicate with the patients, process the billing to insurance companies, take notes on appointments through and online program, run the X-ray machine to develop photographs, and to make sure all appointments were scheduled correctly and we were never over booked.  Some of the programs I used in this position got me ready to use online databases in the MIS program and the customer service aspect of the job really helped learn how to develop a relationship with customers and build on that.

Cashier APETSUPPLIES

When I decided to attend Temple University I needed to find a new position because I worked full time at the chiropractor. I quickly found a job at a local pet store, Pet Supplies Plus, as a cashier. I only work every other weekend while I am in session with classes at Temple however in the summer I worked full time gaining much more responsibility. I was responsible for making sure our loading room was clear of product in order to know how much product to order, managing other employees and training them on their new positions, and gaining more responsibility when communicating with customers.

  Business Development Intern

t_logoremindermedia(1)My first internship was at ReminderMedia as a Business Development Intern. My day to day work included but was not limited to working within the custom CRM package to input data, working on a special project to input data into our wealthiest clients that was assigned to me by the CFO, working within a three man group to accomplish a three week project for the CEO or rewriting the gather sales data script in order for the new interns to have a more updated way of gathering information. I learned a great deal at my time at ReminderMedia and continue to keep a professional relationship with them as I continue my schooling.

My second internship was at Vanguard in the College to Corporate Internship program. I worked in Plan Sponsor Technology which is ideal for a MIS major, being right between the business and the IT.  My day to day work included working on six different projects which were Lost Earnings, RKS Prioritization Database, State of Business Forum, Print Mail Modernization, Complexity Model, and Deloitte Consulting. the first things projects listed were the three that I personally did work on in my day to day work. The final three were projects I shadowed or only worked on slightly. Our intern class also participated in many activities set up by our program managers. We had a corporate challenge day, similar to field day, VTO day , volunteering in Philadelphia, and StrengthsFinder, where we took a quiz and found our strengths for the future.  I enjoyed my time at Vanguard immensely and hope to come back after graduation.
