Apple’s New Gadget: The Apple Watch

TV’s, laptops, smartphones, tablets-Apple has conquered it all, or so we thought. With a release date scheduled for April, Apple will be unveiling its newest product, the Apple Watch. Although not the first to tap into the smartwatch market, researchers predict Apple’s new gadget will ship more than 15 million units worldwide, leaving their competitors in the dust. As per Apple, details about the watch have yet to be revealed, and they want to keep it that way. The watch test lab is on such tight lock down, the app developers aren’t allowed bring in aApple Watch pad of paper, let alone a phone;  looks like we won’t be getting many specifics on the smart watch anytime soon. While particulars on the watch are limited, there are a few details Apple has revealed to the public.

The Apple Watch will:

Be A Bit Pricey

  •   Sorry starving college students, looks like you won’t be buying the Apple Watch anytime soon. With an expected retail price of $350, the new Apple product will burn a bigger hole in your pocket than the Sony ($125) or Pebble Smart Watch ($99).

Have More Battery Life Than Expected

  • Earlier in the year, Apple reported the watch will need to be charged every night, with an expected battery life of only 2.5-4 hours of heavy app usage.  Recently, the company has reported an improved number. The phone should be able to withstand 5 hours of heavy app handling and last a typical day of active and passive usage.

Help You Stay Fit

  • The watch is reported to be equipped with a heart rate monitor that will allow users to track beats per minute for an accurate reading of fitness stats. Get ready to get your burn on.

What other secrets about the smart watch do you think Apple has yet to reveal? Would you cough up $350 dollars for Apple’s newest gizmo?
