Business Analytics Intern
- PROCONEX is a process controls and industrial automation company located in Royersford, PA. My department included 3 people and I worked directly with the business analyst there.
- My role was to facilitate the design of customized ssis and ssrs reports for employees and other duties like automating of their invoice system using visual studio and SQL query writing. I also designed the new company SharePoint website.
- I regularly worked on many different reports and gained an understanding of visual studio. My project of creating the new SharePoint educated me greatly on the web design and working within a team to help realize their vision with the resources I had. I created the new SharePoint to be used as a central place of communication within the company and act as employee’s new homepage.
- I learned how to write SQL queries in the real world as opposed to classroom examples. I learned many different skills in analysis and data science that I predict will assist me in MIS 3506. I also learned how to use the skills I gained writing flash research papers to properly explain myself to managers when it came time to justify spending or the time I had spent on a part of the project. Overall this was a great internship that explored the role of an MIS professional that acts as a bridge between the business and technology focused area of a business.
