IT Enterprise Digital Technology Intern
- Job function – I worked on the release management team, helping my superiors to initiate updates to Voya\’s financial services framework through weekly releases. I was responsible for daily change ticket reports generated through data synthesis from Excel and Salesforce, as well as taking other data science related one-off tasks.
- Examples of projects – my primary project was working on the company\’s data center migration. This summer, Voya migrated all of its production and non-production environments to a new data center, and I worked with my superiors to consolidate this information, create a roadmap for migration of nonprod and prod applications, and initiate testing for these applications once successfully merged to the new data center.
- What you learned and how it relates to your major – This internship was perfect for me as it was at a financial services company, which relates to my finance major, but most of the work I was doing was MIS-oriented. I worked with big data sets daily, gained significant knowledge in Excel and Salesforce, and generally saw how the IT department of a financial services company maintains back-end processes to keep the front end running smoothly.
