The two things that I am interested in most are sports and travelling. I am going to talk about both of them one at a time.

Sports

To be short and sweet, sports have been my first love! Therefore, I have decided to pen down few of my most favorite global sports.

Cricket is not a famous sport in the United States, but is one of the most played games in Pakistan. To play cricket, you need to have a bat, a ball and some protective stuff like helmet, pads, thigh pads and elbow guard. The game is played on a grassy field, with a strip of brown land in the middle, known as the “pitch”. The bowler is supposed to pitch a delivery on the pitch and the batsman is supposed to hit the ball away for points or “runs”. If the ball crosses the boundary rope, they batsman gets four runs. If he manages to heave the ball over the boundary rope without a bounce, he gets six runs. The batsman gets a single, double or three by running on the pitch and getting to the designated line, known as the “crease”. The current world champions of cricket are the Indians.

Soccer is the most popular game in the world at present. Even though the two teams that I support, Pakistan and the United States hardly ever qualify for the world cup, I still love this game. To play this game, all you need is a soccerball and a big empty field. There are eleven players per side and the goal is to net the ball in the opposition’s net to score a ‘goal’. My favorite soccer team and player are Brazil and Ronaldo respectively.

I had no clue what Football is when I was in Pakistan. When I came here, I realized that all youngsters and even mature adults are interested in is Football. I won’t try to explain how this game is played as I am not aware of all the rules myself but I will surely say that football indeed is a wonderful game. The team I root for is Philadelphia Eagles, for apparent reasons and my favorite player is Michael Vick.

Travelling

I have been to a lot of places over the world. Some of the places that I really loved are listed below.

Dubai, UAE

I have been to Dubai four times and it surely is my most favorite place to visit. The city is like a jungle of skyscrapers. The temperature there is immensely hot, but the mind blowing display of architecture makes up for it. A person should visit Dubai at least once in his lifetime.

London, UK

London is a very happening city. I have been there twice and both of my stays there were absolutely unforgettable. One of my aunts live there so I really enjoyed myself. It is a nice place but there are a lot of places that you would want to visit instead of going to London.

Karachi, Pakistan

Karachi is one of the highly underrated cities in the world today. It is one of the largest cities in the world and accounts for almost 80% of the revenue generated in Pakistan. No country is dependant upon one city as much as Pakistan is on Karachi. Even though I am originally from Karachi and have spent a large portion of my life there, I couldn’t help but include it in the list of the places I would love to visit whenever given an opportunity.

New York City, USA

NYC is undoubtedly the most attractive city on earth today. People from all over the world crave to go to New York. Since I live an hour’s drive away from New York, I go there every now and then and it surely is one hell of a place!

Toronto, Canada

I visited Cananda during the winter break and liked it a lot. To be frank, it isn’t too far behind New York City. I would love to go there again.
