Intern at Technology Information Center of Luoyang
During Summer 2016, I intern at Technology Information Center of Luoyang. Technology Information Center of Luoyang is under the director control of Luoyang Government. TIC of Luoyang has three departments. One department manages process suppliers, systems, confidential information, especially cybersecurity of government departments. One department designs and maintains the website of government and interacts with citizens. The last but not least department is more focus on maintenance of equipment and updating of the database.
As an assistant intern at The Technology Information Center of Luoyang, my main work was updating and organizing records of employees’ attendance on a daily basis, and I also assisted technicians with equipment maintenance. I collected five departments’ attendance, uploaded them to the database server, combined them with electronic attendance system records, and organized data weekly with Microsoft Excel and My Structured Query Language. I also used MySQL retrieved attendance data every Friday, divided data based on 15 different departments, exported data as three separate spreadsheets: official leave application with the reason, regular weekdays and overtime attendance, and non-reason absence. Because of my 80WPM, accurate typing and proficient in MySQL, my manager praised my data entry skills and rewarded me with a chance to present a weekly report to the Department Director.
