Working in the IT department alongside other business analysts allowed me to gain more experience not only as ERP business analyst but also as an MIS student. I didn’t get a chance to see the process of building ERP for other companies, but I was assigned several duties including the task of ensuring that there is development and maintenance of the ERP program. Also, I was asked to customize and configure the work flow to ensure that there is the stable integration of server applications. As an organization aimed at meeting and satisfying corporate needs, it was expected of me to tests ERP layout to ensure it is aligned with business requirements. Finally, I worked together with 2 other interns and project director within the organization to customize programs with intention of achieving business objectives. I used to report to my supervisor and brief him about our daily activities and achievements. All these tasks aimed at making the business operations at an optimal level to ensure that it stays ahead of the competition.

To ensure the organization remains goal-oriented and competitive, I worked with other business analysts to allow it retain new clients and continuously maintain current clients. During the intern, the organization reported that the rate at which it was losing its clients declined thereby implying that its retention power had significantly risen. It is essential to understand that working as an ERP business analyst entails spending most of the workday on the computer in order to come up with appropriate strategies for delegating project management to preferred employees. In general, the experience gained as ERP analysts opened another opportunity for understanding applications of MIS in the business world.
