Intern
- This summer, I interned at Deloitte, specifically in its Global Technology Services (GTS) practice in the Chicago office. Deloitte has over 250,000 employees, but in GTS specifically, there are only a few thousand.
- Within GTS, I worked in the Business Solutions Group (BSG). My role was that of a business analyst. I worked with people from all over the US, as well as people from other countries, primarily India. I had two major projects that I worked on this summer. One was to create user stories for an automation project. The second was to create a personal assistant app specific to Deloitte employees.
- For the personal assistant app I was in charge of figuring out both the functionality and design. I worked with a team of programmers in India to figure out what was feasible and what wasn\’t. After doing so, I used Balsamiq to create a mock-up of the design.
- I learned a lot about user experience and design through this internship, as well as how to be a business analyst. As an MIS major, it\’s really important to be able to translate the same information in multiple ways. I was happy to see that the content I learned in MIS 3506 last semester was applicable to my real word experience this summer.
