The workshop showed how to create digital surveys with KoBoToolbox and how to use QField, a mobile GIS app that connects with QGIS to collect geographic data in the field. The session was sponsored by the university to help students learn useful tools for research and field projects and the speaker was Felipe Valdez. As a participant, I listened to the presentation and followed the examples to understand how these tools work. I learned about good survey design, collecting data without internet access, using GPS, and adding photos or other media while gathering information. The workshop helped me see how mobile technology can make data collection easier and more organized for research projects.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\""alignnone\" src=\""https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/files\/2026\/03\/Screenshot-2026-03-11-at-3.02.36\" alt=\"""\" width=\""300"\" height=\""186"\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\""alignnone\" src=\""https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/files\/2026\/03\/Screenshot-2026-03-11-at-3.59.15\" alt=\"""\" width=\""300"\" height=\""186"\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":31068,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-11","points","type-points","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/points\/11","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/points"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/points"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/31068"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=11"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/points\/11\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/abdel\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
