Employment History
I am currently employed by Gulf Agency Company in Philadelphia, PA. While GAC has many branches, the Philadelphia office falls under the shipping arm.
As a commercial analyst my duties relate to targeting potential business while keeping up with current relationships. I work with our commercial manager to create weekly and month reports that layout past and future port calls. These reports are used to find patterns among the calls that can help us determine controlling parties for vessels. Our office is primarily focused on targeting tanker vessels.
I also assist the traffic department by creating bookings and bills of lading for Roll-on Roll-off car carriers.
Lastly I work in the AMS department. Duties in this department include filing Electronic Notices of Arrival and Departure and cargo reports for US Customs.
The Pennsylvania Chautauqua
The Pennsylvania Chautauqua is a summer community program operating out of Mt. Gretna, PA. Every summer the Chautauqua is the host of dozens of programs, from book clubs to computer classes. The Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show also takes place during the 3rd weekend in August. The Art Show draws thousands of attendees and hundreds of artists from across the country.
As the marketing intern for the Chautauqua is was my responsibility to update all forms of social media and create advertisements for all of the programs and events held within the Chautauqua. It was also my responsibility to run and host the silent auctions during the Art Show as well as collect donations from surrounding businesses. During my summer in Mt. Gretna I was asked to promote the Chautauqua to residents of Lancaster and Lebanon counties.
The Hershey LodgeThe Hershey Lodge is one of the three Official Resorts of Hershey Park and is located in Hershey, Pa. The lodge has over 650 rooms and also able to house large events as Pennsylvania’s Largest Convention Resort. Amenities include and indoor and outdoor pools, outdoor recreational courts and children’s activities.
As a front desk clerk it was my job to interact with and keep our guests happy. Duties including answering a wide range of questions, checking guests in and out and providing customer service in any way possible.
