Voicing Conviction: Keys to Persuading IT Risk Management Decision Makers

For this webinar, our speaker was Orlando Barone, who is an instructor in Business Skills for ITACS Professionals at the Fox School of Business. Additionally, he is also the president of Barone Associates, executive leadership coach and management instructor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. It was interesting to learn about how he manages his multiple roles and transitions from these roles on a daily basis. Time management is the key to transition from these roles and that is something that I would like to incorporate in my daily life activities as well more often and get better at it from time to time. While talking about his 25 years of experience, he spoke up interpersonal effectiveness, negotiation, team building and training design which was highly informative. My biggest takeaway was his leadership skills and how important team building is for a leader to be successful. We also learnt how to interact with decision makers that are uninformed without sounding arrogant but effective in our work by using appropriate gestures and using appropriate voice to achieve an optimal tone.
