People to People
People-to-People is an student ambassador program that allows students to take the teachings from classrooms and to apply it in the real world. People to peoples mission statement is “to bridge cultural and political borders through education and exchange, creating global citizens and making the world a better place for future generations”. I was very fortunate to get chosen for two awesome trips over the course of two summers each lasting three weeks. My first summer I traveled on the trip labeled “The Traditions of Europe” which included the countries Ireland, England, Wales, and the Netherlands. During my second summer I got the chance to tour Rome and Italy. Each trip impacted greatly, I got to see different countries and cultures that I would never really learn about from reading a textbook. I made wonderful friends not only from my group, but also from each country that I toured. These trips taught me to how to be responsible, independent, and most importantly a leader. Both trips had a lasting impact on myself; they made me into a better person and were trips of a lifetime that I would never forget.
