Feeding People During Pandemic Covid-19
Our mission was to meet the needs of people in this country who were experiencing food insecurity. We have remained committed to our goal to end hunger, even during the lockdown due to the pandemic Covid-19. Millions of children and adults were going hungry every day. We worked tirelessly to ensure that nutritious food was delivered to those in need by producers, manufacturers, and retailers.
We learned that even though United States has enough food to feed every man, woman, and infant, 72 billion pounds of nutritious, edible food is wasted each year. Meat, rather than any other substance in urban solid waste, ends up in landfills and incinerators. We collaborated with producers, distributors, retailers, food service firms, and farmers to collect food that would otherwise go to waste.
