Performing Arts

I grew up as a dancer, starting at age two. I was a member of Children of the Light Dancers in Fairfax, VA for 16 years, and a teacher for eight years.  http://www.childrenofthelightdancers.org/#

I also have a love of music. I play the clarinet and the saxophone. I love listening to music, my favorite genre is Country. Some of my favorite artists are: Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Scotty McCreery, and Florida Georgia Line.

Growing up just outside of Washington, D.C., I had many opportunities to see performances at the Kennedy Center. Some of the most memorable performances I saw were: The Russian Ballet’s SwanLake, Cinderella the opera, and The Washington Ballet’s Alice in Wonderland.

Children of the American Revolution

untitled

I have been an active member of Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.) since I was four years old. C.A.R.  is a patriotic lineage society where all members have an ancestor who served or gave aid to the Continentals or militia during the Revolution. C.A.R. emphasizes patriotism and love of country, through programs of  patriotic and historic education, historic preservation, and leadership development.

I served as the 2011-2012 Maryland State President where I focused on education about the founding of Maryland, and raised over $3,500 to help preserve the jolly boat, the “Parrot”, which accompanies the Maryland Dove in Historic St. Mary’s City. I have also served in two National Offices, both focused on membership, and I am currently the National Convention Chairman. https://www.nscar.org/

Church

I have always been active in my church community. I serve as a subdeacon, and as a member of the Altar Guild. I also help run the dance ministry, and continue my long-time involvement in children’s ministry.

Girl Scouts

I was a Girl Scout for 12 years, a camp counselor, and a teen and adult volunteer as well. craftI loved every minute of my experience. I learned many life skills and made friendships that will last forever. I earned my Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards for leadership, community service, and learning about different things through badges I earned in the Girl Scout program  I combined my love of dance with community services to provide a “Day of Dance” for underprivileged children as my Gold Award Project.

Sports

Having grown up with four brothers, I developed a love of sports early. The mains sports I follow are football and basketball.  I cheer for the Bengals and Redskins (and of course the Owls). I played house league basketball for seven years.
