WebORA – CARAS Research Grant
-
WebORA is a web-based study tool that allows organic chemistry students to interact with 3D molecular reactions
In my role as UX researcher, I submitted a proposal to my University and was awaded the Creative Arts Research And Scholarship, a $4000 research grant. The scope of the proposal was to investigate students’ preferences on accessibility features while learning organic chemistry. The deliverable would be the beta version of “webORA,” a web-based application that allows the user to interact with a 3D molecular animation with subtitles that describe the reaction progression. The application would be tested and evaluated for usability and accessibility.
The final deliverable was a working website which can be found here https://webora.netlify.app/
- In addition, a full research paper was submitted to the 2022 ACM ASSETS Conference. Here is the submitted paper link: https://www.allysongyu.com/_files/ugd/830988_d52996dbdddb4dae984310f9cc679de4.pdf
