MLK Day of Service
On January 15th, 2024, I volunteered at the Julia Ward Howe Elementary School, in the spirit of MLK Day. This event was set up by Temple Athletics in order to give back to our local Philadelphia community. During our day of giving, we helped clear out trash, old equipment, and other items the school administration wanted to get rid of. We spent a good portion of the day painting the stairways for students and faculty to enjoy on their first day back from winter break. The time we spent helping out Julia Ward Howe School allowed me to reflect on the importance of contributing to community. The reaction we received from the staff working at the school was priceless to say the least.
