Google Data Analytics Certification
I completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, a comprehensive 240-hour, seven-course program that provided me with a strong foundation in data analytics. Each course built on the last, providing me with a practical, hands-on understanding of how data can drive smarter decision-making across various industries.
The first course, Foundations: Data, Data Everywhere, introduced the fundamental concepts of data analytics, from different data types, the role of analysts, and how data influences decisions.
In the second course, Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions, I learned how to frame the right questions to drive data analysis. This course taught me that meaningful questions lead to data analysis, as they guide the data collection process and the overall approach to problem-solving.
The third course, Prepare Data for Exploration, introduced me to the technical skills necessary for data preparation, such as data collection, cleaning, and data integrity. I worked with spreadsheets and SQL to clean large data sets, ensuring reliable results.
In courses four and five, Process Data from Dirty to Clean and Analyze Data to Answer Questions, I gained hands-on experience processing raw data and analyzing it for patterns and insights. Using SQL, I transformed and filtered large data sets and applied exploratory analysis techniques to uncover trends and key insights that guide strategic decisions.
In Share Data Through the Art of Visualization, the sixth course, I learned how to effectively communicate findings through data visualization tools like Tableau and R. This course showed me how powerful visual storytelling can be when presenting data to different audiences, making complex insights simpler to understand. I worked on creating dashboards, charts, and other visualizations that turn data into something more engaging and actionable.
The seventh course, Data Analysis with R Programming, introduced me to R programming and RStudio. I learned how to automate processes in data analysis, perform calculations, and create visualizations. This course helped me understand how to make the workflow more efficient, from cleaning data to producing insights.
Throughout the program, I developed a portfolio of projects, demonstrating my ability to work with real-world data, ensuring data quality and integrity, and making informed decisions based on analysis. I gained experience working with metadata, performing data aggregation, determining sample sizes, and integrating ethical considerations into my work. Beyond the technical skills, this program also sharpened my critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, giving me the confidence to use data in ways that solve real business problems.
