Tech Center Consultant
I have been working as a student worker for the Computer Services department since April 2017. The majority of my work involves being a tech consultant and troubleshooting. My job also includes analytics by tracking loaned laptops and tech center logs. I provide assistance to 7,500 students and faculty and maintain knowledge of the newest software and hardware updates. I operate and manage printers/scanners and handle the computers.
As a tech consultant I have been able to utilize my knowledge with Excel, MySQL, and various programming languages (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.) by providing students with assistance and guidance. I assess and troubleshoot various technical issues and do extensive research to solve these problems. This has made me sharpen my problem solving skills and I’ve learned about a lot of various technologies in the process. Due to the high customer volume, I have been able to improve my problem solving skills within a team setting to achieve our goals.
