Professional Career

My parents made it very apparent to me at a young age that being independent was important.  Since I was a freshman in high school, I have had various part time jobs such as lifeguarding at a local swimming pool and serving for a catering hall.  Below are some of my more recent jobs and where I hope to go in my future professionally!

• I am currently working at the Drake Tavern in Jenkintown, Pa, serving only the finest of beers and burgers.  I have been employed there for the past 4 years and worked my way up from a food runner to a server over a short period of time.

• I started working a work-study job in the Office of Facilities Management my freshman year.  My duties mostly include processing inventory requisitions and doing various administrative work.

• This spring semester, I started my first marketing internship at The Rittenhouse Hotel in Center City, Philadelphia.  At The Rittenhouse, my duties include various administrative work, social media promotion, and observing weekly general meetings and daily menu meetings with directors and catering managers.  The social media promotion I am involved with include writing scripts about different events in the city which will be posted on the hotel’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

• To reiterate what I stated on the My Academics page, I am pursuing a career in Event Planning and I would like to stay in the city working for a catering company or PR firm.
