AIS Mentorship Program
Fall 2020: During the 2020 Fall semester, I got a chance to join the mentorship program of AIS, the MIS student professional organization. This was a great opportunity for me to be exposed to more experienced members of the major that can provide insight for me. I was able to learn valuable knowledge on the MIS major and how i can maximize my time here at Fox School of Business. My mentor, Sean Boyer, was absolutely fantastic. As Vice President of AIS, he had so much experience and wisdom that he gladly passed onto me. He answered so many of my questions and gave me valuable advice on how to navigate my freshman year at Temple as an MIS major. Sean motivated me to be an active member of AIS, completing all three of their development tracks and attending networking events like the Cybersecurity panel, and IT career fair. Overall, it was tremendous experience and I am so grateful for being able to take part in the program
Spring 2021: For my second semester in the AIS mentorship program, I was paired up with Andrew Furhman. He was an excellent mentor who had a lot of great advice to give to me about navigating the major. We spent time virtually conducting mentor-mentee activities. Highlights include picking out classes together and taking personality tests to compare results. Overall, it was a great experience. I am so thankful I was able to partake in this great program.
