MIS Capstone

For the MIS capstone, my team and I developed a prototype for a new reservation application called Dibs. Dibs allows users to make reservations and even order through the app so the food is ready when you get there.

This team project is similar to that of MIS 3506 except you come up with a project idea on your own. This was very difficult because working with a team of five, everyone offers great ideas and we can only pick one. We had to weigh pros and cons of a project before we picked an idea. Our main question we asked was, “what business problem is this going to solve?” Once we all agreed on a project and got it approved we met with our mentor. Our mentor offered valuable feedback that we had not previously considered so we had to change some things around. We adjusted our project as we went along due to receiving more feedback from peers and professors, changing some ideas we realized wasn’t feasible. Every member offered different skills that complimented one another. I was very fortunate to have worked on an exceptional team with intelligent and ambitious people. One thing I did takeaway from this project was to pitch your ideas to multiple people before deciding on a project. It will help with deciding what actually brings value and how its solving the problem.
