This combined duty allowed me to be a part of the runners&#8217; journey, from the motivating start to the joyous finish. Holding the runners&#8217; banner represented unity and encouragement, and at the finish line, I offered comfort and support by covering the runners in heat sheets and giving them a sense of success.
