Bloomberg is an international fintech firm operating from Midtown Manhattan in New York City. The company operates internationally and offers solutions in the form of software, data, and media to institutions across the globe. I shall be working in the Analytics & Sales department that caters to clients using the Bloomberg Terminal.
As an employee of Bloomberg, I will get to work closely with my clients using the Bloomberg Terminal as I assist them in navigating through the terminal, help in day-to-day activities, and answer any queries that they may have with regard to market trends and asset classes.
The Bloomberg position for analytics and sales is consistent with my educational background in Management Information Systems since it involves using systems and data to make decisions while simultaneously interacting with clients. Management Information Systems emphasizes the application of computer-based information systems in decision making, which will help me learn how to analyze financial data and assist customers in navigating the Bloomberg platform. The opportunity would also hone communication and problem-solving skills by working with clients directly.
The analytics and sales position at Bloomberg is related to my aspiration to join the wealth management industry in that it provides experience in understanding the financial markets and investment data, and interacting with clients. Learning how to interpret financial data and convey the information is important in advising clients about their portfolio and investments. Working in a place like New York City is also advantageous for networking.
