East Coast Cycle Center is a motorcycle dealership in Bensalem, PA. I am currently employed part-time in the parts department under management of Michael Cassidy. I currently work as an online sales and parts specialist. My first project related to my major was playing a role in the integration of the DMS and CRM system we currently utilize daily called LightSpeed EVO by CDK Global. Today my manager and I use LightSpeed to retain customers and bridge the gap between the Sales, Parts and Service departments. In my current role I am using the system to target our most popular products to integrate them onto our online platforms such as our website, Ebay, and our newest addition, Amazon. I currently am managing our website, which has generated over 4,000 leads, accumulated traffic over 300,000, and has a repeat traffic percentage of over 30% in 2020.

This position and opportunity has provided me with a plethora of insight related to my major. In MIS2101 we discussed the importance of systems within a business, but I was able to see it first hand as we made the transition to connect our company with one software. I have come to understand the benefits of having each department working off the same system. The insights into how DMS and CRM systems can be used for point-of-sale data collection, inventory control, and internal communication. All of which are valuable tools in any retail type business. I’ve also learned the importance of logistics, linking us to our distributors directly through our system so I can not only check my inventory for parts, but source them elsewhere with a click of a button.
