Leadership On Campus
HootaThon
I started out my Freshman year by getting involved with HootaThon, Temple University’s Dance Marathon. HootaThon raises funds and awareness for the Child Life Department of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and culminates in a 12-hour Dance Marathon. I was given a leadership position as Captain of Satellite Campuses on the Campus Engagement Committee. I was able to raise over $2,300!
By March of my Freshman year, I accepted an Executive Team position as Director of Campus Engagement. I am in charge of recruiting and engaging all areas of Temple University, from Freshman to transfer students to athletes, satellite campuses, and graduate students. My goal as a member of the Executive Team is to help spread as much awareness of our cause as possible and to get as many students involved as I can because I believe it is a life changing organization and cause. I have seen the work of the Child Life Department first hand and hope to spread awareness of the importance of the Department with as many people on Temple’s campus as possible.
Leadership Living Learning Community
I was a member of the Leadership Living Learning Community last year. I lived with other leaders and attended a weekly seminar, as well as was a part of the Diamond Leadership Program. I hope to get more involved with the Diamond Leadership Program when time permits, however I was so lucky to live with other emerging leaders who had very similar work ethic and drive as me, which made us very close friends!
