I am currently a full-time Temple student as well as being a full-time employee.
I work as a Sales lead for the Bike & Exercise department at Dick’s Sporting Goods. The store has a good environment because I am such a sports fanatic. Even though I work full-time, it is perfect while attending Temple because of the flexibility. During the school semester I basically make my own schedule and let my associates know when I will be working.
Although my job is flexible it is still a full-time job. The problem is that I do not get to join as many on-campus associations as I would like to. While attending high school at St. Joseph’s Preparatory, I was able to join many clubs, play a sport, and doing many community service acts including traveling to New Mexico on a service trip. Now the schedule is a little tight with flexibility, but I still manage to do what I can. Currently, I am part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA). This allows me gain experience in my field while performing a community service act and helping people in need.
