I have gained multiple transferable skills from my current work experiences to my future career as an MIS graduate. The skills I have used and developed during my time at current and past jobs, are related to customer support, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and inventory management using the software MyDay. I have displayed customer support skills in the many instances in which our store has had a guest report dis-satisfaction with their time there, where I would remain calm and assess the situation before anything gets out of hand. One common result of a case like this usually involves the customer receiving a 5 dollar gift card. Using the MyDay application on our stores handheld work devices I monitor, update, and report inventory data when necessary to ensure an accuracy. On top of these important skills, I regularly display my skills in problem solving, teamwork, and communication, as a fair amount of my daily work required other people to be apart of an “assembly line” like process when in the warehouse department, where everyone relies on each other to get their work done so that no one person is waiting for someone else to complete a task to move on. Throughout my lengthy time in this position, I have learned what it’s like to remain professional in the workplace, and how to work well with others or by yourself as many projects require different levels of group support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":29793,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-24","points","type-points","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/bhelmer\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/points\/24","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/bhelmer\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/points"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/bhelmer\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/points"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/bhelmer\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/29793"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/bhelmer\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=24"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/bhelmer\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/points\/24\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/bhelmer\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=24"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
