Assistant Professor (Practice) Bruce Hohne holds a BA degree in Chemistry from McDaniel College, and a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Hohne joined Rohm and Haas Company upon graduating from UNC. During his 29 years at Rohm and Haas he worked in a number of different areas of the company. He started in the Research Division, where he authored several publications and edited two books based on American Chemical Society Symposium Series. He spent several years in a chemical production facility; learning where the company made its money. After a brief international assignment he moved to the corporate headquarters, where he was actively involved in all aspects of the global information technology infrastructure. Ultimately, he became one of the Senior Enterprise Architects, providing strategic direction for the company’s technology investments. Later he expanded his role to include interfacing with several of the businesses as as a Business Relationship Manager.
After leaving Rohm and Haas Bruce joined hibu (formerly Yellowbook) as an Infrastructure Architect. There he was instrumental in their efforts to globalize the IT function. Eventually, he became the Lead Infrastructure Architect.
Dr. Hohne began teaching at Temple as and Adjunct in the summer of 2012, becoming full time in the fall of 2013.
