Final Team Exercise:

Your final assignment will be to analyze and propose controls for a B2B credit approval process for the company Sleep Tea Corporation. As a team, you will work on this project throughout the week and then present your team’s work on the last day of class.

Beginning on day 1,  you will receive an assignment in relation to this project to work on using what you learned in class that day.  We will have discussion of any project related questions you have after the quiz the following day. Nothing needs to be handed in until the last day of class.  You will submit the final deliverables below in  per team, as well as a10 slide executive summary of your project:

In-Class Exercises:

  1. Understand the activities done in STC’s current process.
  2. Understand the data used in STC’s current process.
  3. Identify the business rules used in STC’s current process.
  4. Recommend the control objectives and controls that STC should use insure positive outcomes from the credit approval process.

Additional Deliverables:

  1. A swim-lane diagram of the current process
  2. An ERD of the data involved in the process
  3. A swim-lane diagram for the proposed solution
  4. An ERD of the data involved in the proposed solution
  5. A list of business rules for the process
  6. A list of the control objectives for the process and what controls you recommend for each objective
  7. A presentation of your findings (no more than 10 slides)
  8. ** EACH GROUP will have 15 minutes to present and each group member must present at least one slide
