In this pre-law internship, I was assigned the work of filing unfair employment discrimination and processing them to attorney referrals into the EEOC database. I learned of the laws and acts the EEOC deals with and the history of the EEOC. I used the database program, ARC, the NSA Acquisition Resource Center. The internship was sponsored by the EEOC and Leora Eisenstadt helped me in attaining this internship. I was an “extern” in the intake department. I learned of the common discriminatory acts that employers often commit. I learned of the acts and laws that the EEOC has dealt with and how this federal agency is fighting for. Examples of laws I had researched are: Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), Title I & V of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 501 & 505 of Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act 0f 2022 (PWFA).
