About Me

My name is William Catanch and I am currently enrolled as a junior at Temple University. My major is Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems. I am very determined with focused drive and passion for leadership. I have refined my leadership abilities through the leadership program, LEADS, at Community College of Philadelphia. With my distinctive work experience and education I now have the proficiency and theory to bring value to any work environment in the business or informational service industry.

Upon graduating high school I worked at McDonalds as a shift manager for two years. I realized my goals were not going to be obtained there so I enrolled in a 9 month certification program at Data Processing Trainers School for Computerized Accounting. I began as a temporary worker for Destination Maternity’s corporate office and within a year, I had earned a permanent position with the Information Technology department as an IT Specialist. I worked there for 9 years and developed a litany of skills required to be efficient within the IT department. As Destination Maternity’s corporate center downsized, I had to find a new opportunity elsewhere. I again was left to find employment with temporary agency and worked at SHPS corporate office as a data processor. I received outstanding recognition there for efficiently helping them centralize their data into the corporate office. After my tenure at SHPS was over I decided to become more competitive in my profession and pursued higher education.

I enrolled myself into Community College of Philadelphia for the Management in Computer Information Technology program. While at CCP I worked as a work study for the Student Leadership and Involvement Center as their Social Networking Specialist. I drove traffic to the Student Life page and assisted in organizing and planning events. I then was elected as Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for two year colleges, and organized many community service events. Under my leadership we have received chapter recognition for food drives, coat drives, and book drives. While at CCP I was accepted into Temple University’s dual admission program. Upon receiving my Associates in Arts with honors I was admitted into Temple as a junior. I currently volunteer at Visitation Homes, a shelter for homeless women and children, Phi Theta Kappa, and also help mentor young men with continuing their education coming from prison.
