- Traveling
I recently returned from a semester abroad at the University College Dublin in Ireland. I traveled to different countries all across Europe and fostered relationships with people from all over the world. It’s difficult to articulate the impact that my experience abroad has had on my me, but this past spring was certainly a watershed in my life. Among other things, this experience awakened a passion for traveling in me that I was not previously aware that I possess. I had the great fortune to contribute to Temple University’s Study Abroad blog during my abroad. Here is a link to my last post for the blog.
- Music
I have loved music since the first time I heard my father play a Genesis record when I was hardly more than an infant. I started playing the drums and saxophone when I was in grade school, and I recently took up learning the guitar. I believe live music has a transcendent power that can connect people on a deeper level than simple conversation. I would list some favorites, but they are too many to count!
- Reading
As soon as I discovered that reading was more than just homework, I was hooked. I’ve always loved the subjective nature of reading a book; each person creates his or her personalized version of the world described in any particular book. Some of my recent favorites: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (entire series) by Douglas Adams, The Wisdom of Insecurity by Alan Watts, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
