Scrum Master Intern

From May 12th to July 25th, I was employed as a Project Management Scrum Master Intern at Portnoff Law & Associates. I worked on-site from May – June, and then hybrid the rest of the Internship. I was apart of the IT team and worked under Dada Honde. It was an IT team made up of the CTO, a Full-Time Developer, two Software Engineer Interns, and a Full-Time IT Administrator. I was brought in to the team as part of the transformation to the Scrum Agile Framework that Dada wanted to adapt to. So, I was put to work right away and got to fulfill the role of a real Scrum Master. I became very proficient with Project Management tools like Jira and Confluence. I ran Sprint meetings like the Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Refinement Meetings. My role in those meetings was to initiate, and make sure the conversation was efficient and geared towards the goal of the meeting. During the day I would be monitoring every ticket in Jira and updating stakeholders within the firm the progress of the tickets that the developers would be working on. The last month of the internship I spent a lot of my time working on a project that had me migrating all the company’s SOP’s from DocuWiki to Confluence. So, I was tasked with creating the Topic Folders and the template pages so that the stakeholders could just search the SOP and then input the information they wanted right into it without creating the space.
