Philly Give Camp
I attend Philly Give Camp which is a three day event where volunteers ranging from students to professional would lend their time and expertise to help nonprofit organization with their technology needs that include redesigning, updating and implementing new features . I along with two others were able to help The Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank update and redesign their website using WordPress and HTML.
This event is a hands-on experience especially for students who are looking to put their course work to real world use. I was able to use my knowledge of WordPress and HTML that I learned to use by being in the MIS program and put it to use in a real work situation. The event was also a great networking event that allow me to meet and network with professional in the information system industry as well as learn from them.
