Read Between the Lines: Decoding Charts and Graphs in the News
From this workshop, I learned how to analyze charts, graphs, and statistics in news stories more critically instead of accepting them at face value. I learned how to recognize misleading visuals, biased data presentation, missing context, and manipulated scales that can change how information appears to readers. I also gained skills in questioning where the data comes from, understanding what information may be left out, and making more informed judgments about whether a news story is accurately representing the data.
