Business Analyst
Organization Information:
Sentari AI is an early-stage technology startup focused on building AI-driven journaling and personal wellness tools. The company operates remotely, with a lean founding team and small group of interns supporting growth, product research, and business development. As part of the strategy and operations team, I worked closely with the founders on projects critical to Sentari’s early-stage growth.
Job Function:
As a Business Analyst Intern, my role involved supporting market research, competitor analysis, and investor relations, while also contributing to product and user insights. My day-to-day responsibilities included gathering and analyzing data, building reports and presentations, supporting user research, and assisting with outreach strategies.
Examples of Projects:
-
Conducted user research by analyzing Reddit forums, psychology literature, and survey data to identify potential target audiences for the journaling app.
-
Performed an in-depth competitor analysis, creating SWOT frameworks and heatmaps that informed pitch decks and product positioning.
-
Researched and compiled over 500+ potential VC investors using CB Insights, identifying those aligned with Sentari’s mission and stage.
-
Supported the CEO by drafting multiple versions of investor pitch decks, helping refine messaging and narrative for fundraising.
-
Collaborated on a marketing research plan with other BAs, outlining short- and long-term strategies for low-cost and scalable growth initiatives.
-
Analyzed user data in Supabase SQL to measure retention, build heatmaps of activation points, and identify friction in user onboarding.
What I Learned (Relation to Major):
This internship enhanced my analytical and communication skills in a fast-paced startup setting. It reinforced concepts from my Management Information Systems coursework at Temple University, particularly in data analysis, database querying, and process improvement. By conducting SQL queries, I applied the knowledge I gained from database management courses. Creating pitch decks and competitor research tied directly to business communication and strategy classes. Most importantly, I gained hands-on experience in bridging technology, data, and business operations.
