Student Professional Organization
Ascend is a SPO(Student Professional Organization) for accounting and finance majors. Ascend holds weekly meetings on Fridays where different firms from various sizes share information about opportunities in their company for the purpose of recruiting potential candidates. I joined Ascend in Fall 2012 and I am still an active member and contribute greatly to the organization. Through this organization, I learned more about accounting by going to meetings and networking events, as I developed soft skills that will make me successful. Before I attended college, I never thought I would be involved with different accounting professionals so early in my college career.
