School Projects

Some of the projects I worked on at Temple include:

MIS3504 Digital Design and Innovation Project

My role: Business Analyst

Problem: TU Press did not have any apps, but wanted to develop the Forgotten Philadelphia app as a companion to the book to engage customers in the digital age and allow them to feel more connected to the Press. The Forgotten Philadelphia app should increase the potential market and create revenue for TU Press without increased expenditures and IT hires due to its limited budget and technical staff. The Press has identified the basic requirements needed for the app including: the app needed to directly relate to the Forgotten Philadelphia book, needed to be user-friendly, and needed to integrate geolocation. The app targeted tourists, scholars, and people interested in architecture and history. The technology used for the Forgotten Philadelphia app could then be used for future apps that correspond to other TU Press books to expand the business further.

Solution: We used the program JustInMind to create a prototype of an app.

Our app featured:

– Interactive Routes

– Buildings List

– Selfie feature with historic backdrops

– Trivia quiz

– Augmented Reality

MIS3535 Change Leadership Project

My role: Project Manager

Problem: The Pennsylvania Ballet was challenged with streamlining its digital marketing channels and could not track or use ticket or social media metrics. By ticketing through a third party, the Pennsylvania Ballet is unable to gather data about its tickets and buyers. With no measurement of social media metrics with the company, feedback and data were available on social media outlets are not used.

Solution: We used the program JustInMind to create a prototype of an app.

Our app featured:

– Analytics tracking for its website

– A central hub to streamline management

– Easy access to ticket sales for its consumers

– Social media channels

BA 3103- Integrative Business Operations Capsim Project

My role: Partial owner of a company

Problem: We had to use the program “Capsim” to act as if we were the owners of a company and had to take care of the business according to the industry.

My group were all MIS majors that we were able to use our knowledge of technology and skills in business analysis to perform well on our Capsim project.

Result: Our team came in first place. Our Capsim strategy since the first round resembled the best-cost provider strategy. The best-cost provider strategy combines a strategic emphasis on low cost with a strategic emphasis on more than minimal quality, service, features, or performance. Our intention was to create competitive advantage with our products by giving our customers more value for their money. We wanted to keep the cost low, without compromising ideal position, age, or reliability according to importance per product.
