Volunteer/Community Service
I was an Experience Leader for Temple University’s Sustainability Service Immersion Program. SIP is designed to actively engage students in meaningful experiences that foster cultural awareness, global understanding, and social responsibility through learning, service, and reflection. In the 6 weeks leading up to our Spring Break, we led discussions about active citizenship, dominant narratives, and identity. We spent the week in Asheville, North Carolina working with the non-profit, Asheville Greenworks. We built a pollinator habitat in one of the public housing neighborhoods and participated in a creek cleanup protecting local waterways from pollution.
