Field Data Collection and Mobile GIS: Digital Tools for Research in the Field

I attended the workshop called Field Data Collection and Mobile GIS: Digital Tools for Research in the Field, hosted by Felipe Valdez, and learned a lot about different tools used to gather data. The first tool that I found interesting was the Kobo Toolbox. I found it most interesting how you can use it to gather data from precise locations. The centralization aspect of this website is beneficial because it allows individuals or organizations to get a direct view of where their data is being exported to and how successful the transport is. This platform can be used for the smallest things, such as getting a survey on what shoes are purchased more in certain areas, to how well a product is doing in different regions. I like the versatile nature of Kobo and was very pleased to learn about it in this workshop because I feel as though it can come in handy in my future as a Software Engineer in terms of what I could be trying to fix and navigate. Using this website could provide me with information I would be able to access easily in a more efficient manner.
