Interests and Hobbies
Swimming
Swimming has been an interest in mine since before I can remember. My mother and her siblings were swimmers, so it seemed only natural for my siblings and me to swim. I started swimming competitively at age six, and did not stop until I was a senior in high school. Now although I do not swim competitively I do swim as a way of exercise and fun. I know that Temple has a swim team and now that I have settled into my first year I am looking forward to joining the team.
Reading
Reading is hobby that I enjoy thoroughly. Mostly I read fiction books, but I also read romantic novels and even the occasional autobiography. Reading is a way for me to escape from all the stresses of life. My favorite book of all time is the Notebook written by Nicholas Sparks; I also adore the movie as well.
Charity
Charity is my most passionate interest. I was a part of Steve Stefani’s Dance Marathon in high school for 3 years. My senior year I was on the morale committee, where we had to get people excited to want to participate in the event. My high school rose over $150,000 in 2011, during my senior year. Recently I started working with a charity for Alzheimer’s Awareness at Martins Run. Martins Run is a senior living community and are looking to open a new Dementia unit for and with getting the younger generation involved this year they earned more money than any other year.
The Flyers
Hockey has been an interest of mine since I was in high school. My high school had a great ice hockey team, which a number of my friends played on. Now that I’m out of high school I am even more interested in the sport especially my favorite team, the Flyers. Going to games, watching on TV, or even looking up stats about the team and players is something you could catch me doing. LET’S GO FLYERS!
