Coursework
MIS 4596 – Managing Enterprise Cybersecurity
In this class, we discussed how to manage cybersecurity as a key enterprise risk. We learned really fascinating ways to identify, protect against, detect, respond to, and recover from cybersecurity threats as well as useful hacking techniques that sharpened our penetration test performance.
CIS 2109 – Database Management Systems
I took this course (as well as CIS 1068 and CIS 1051) to earn my Fundamentals of Programming certificate. In this class, I advanced my knowledge about databases and learned advanced SQL methods as well as how to physically build and maintain a database using Oracle Database.
MIS 3502 – Web Service Programming
This was one of my favorite classes here at Temple University. We learned advanced methods for building and maintaining a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript such as the Ajax.js method for handling requests and mySQL for manipulating the data for used for the website. A fellow classmate and I designed a mobile scavenger hunt game as a final project.
CIS 1051 – Python / CIS 1068 – Java
I took these courses to diversify and advance my knowledge in programming languages. We discussed topics outside of the Management Information Systems curriculum such as Recursion and Inheritance. I was able to build tons of interesting programs in these courses.
MIS 3506 – Digital Design Studio
This class was very interesting because it taught me the importance of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI). I was given a website at the beginning of the semester and as we advanced through the weeks, we applied what we had learned to our site. We then had a final presentation on it to showcase why we made the necessary changes to enhance UX and UI.
