AI and Healthcare Marketing

I attended The AI and Healthcare Marketing on November 12th 2025 for the fall semester. This was an online webinar hosted by The Fox School’s MS in Digital Marketing department, and the department hosted panelists from different specialties to discuss the potential use and harmful effects of AI in their respective fields. This Webinar was hosted on zoom, and was a Q&A style session where the panelists answered questions from guests. I learned mostly about the negative effects of AI and how they are influencing consumers in each market, specifically learning from a doctor and lawyer’s perspective. We learned how in both law and medicine how it’s not just Google that people are trying to substitute for professional practices such as consulting a doctor or lawyer, but it’s AI that people are turning to now for actual serious advice. We discussed how it’s important, specifically in healthcare that people listen to a physician, and not AI, and how it’s helpful to have prior knowledge from Google and AI, but should never be relied on. ChatGPT did not always have a feature telling people to always seek a medical professional’s advice and guidance, but now ChatGPT instructs all users asking about medical advice to always seek professional opinions- a guardrail. Overall the panelists agreed while the use of AI in these respective fields can be helpful, they are just as harmful so having guardrails in place to prevent someone from fully relying on AI for professional advice and answers is important. This webinar relates to the increased use of AI and understanding machine learning in our coursework- specifically using GitHub to complete coding assignments in MIS 3502. While GitHub is a useful tool, it’s always important to check your own work, as AI cant read and figure out all issues in code.
