Short Biography
I was born in Los Angeles, CA, but I was raised in Ethiopia, located in east Africa. Ethiopia is well known for its ancient history and customs; these traditions are passed down from one generation to the next and strong values such as trust, loyalty and the idea of oneness are some that I cannot live without. I attended an international high school that followed a British curriculum and I sat for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), which is a Cambridge International Examination and the equivalent of a high school diploma. While I was in in high school, I participated in many educational extra-curriculum activities such as the Anti HIV/AIDS club and the Model United Nation (MUN) that helped me stay active in my spare time and also helped me educate myself outside of the classroom. I moved to the US in Fall 2012 to pursue my higher education in Accounting and have had many pleasant encounters along the way.
Being raised in a developing country, with access to an excellent education and having the opportunity to attend a prestigious university like Temple has exposed me to many different cultures, which have had a tremendous effect on my perspective of life. My journey to date has helped me grow as a person and understand what I want out of life. I has led me to choose a career path in Accounting which is fits my organized, detail-oriented and conservative nature. It has also helped me set milestones that will keep me on track and help me turn my aspirations into reality.
