Personal Aspirations
Out of the different situations I have encountered in my life, there are some that have had lasting effects on my life. I have seen first hand how poverty and lack of necessities can hold back a nation with great potential and resources. Living in Ethiopia for 18 years, I have noticed that there are many things that people can do to help these nations out of poverty and help them prosper. This is the reason why I would like to create a way for Ethiopian diasporas to systematically help their country, even if they are not able to physically go back, using whatever resources might be available to them. This is essential for countries like Ethiopia that has its population scattered across the globe.
Another equally important issue I would like to address is the importance of education for children. Wherever it may be, I would like to create an organization to promote education for young children because having a good foundation is really what makes a great difference in the future. I would like to motivate children to continue their education by providing incentives for outstanding academic performance and make resources for help available to children who might be struggling. I would like for it to be a support system available for children who might otherwise get demotivated and essentially “give up” on their education.
