Baseball
I have been playing competitive baseball for about 16 years now. I have played baseball for teams of Fox Rok Athletic Association, and Liberty Bell Athletic Association. After I graduated high school, I joined the Pendel Baseball League, where I played for one season. I currently play for a men’s league team in the Vogt Recreation Center League. One of my favorite aspects of playing baseball is playing in popular venues. Some of these venues include Veterans Stadium, the former home of the Philadelphia Phillies, and LaSalle University’s Hank DeVincent Field. Both venues were truly amazing places to compete on.
Philadelphia Sports and Social Club
For the past 4 years, I have been an active member of Philadelphia Sports and Social Club (PSSC), which is Philadelphia’s most popular adult sport and social club. Through PSSC, I’ve had the opportunity to network with many recent college graduates. Also in the fall of 2013, I competed in PSSC’s Men’s Flag Football.
Bartending
Since I turned 18, I have been fascinated in the service industry, especially the bar aspect. For the last 3 years I have worked as a bar-back, and during the past year I was promoted to bartender at a local bar called The Rockledge Pub. Through my work as a bartender, I have improved my ability to socialize and be creative.
Running
Through the influence of my family and friends, I recently started partaking in competitive running. Since I am fairly new to this sport, I have only competed in 3 events thus far, but have significantly improved my times in each run. In the 2014 Donor Dash 5k, I finished 67th out of 1810 runners, which was significantly better than my 2013 finish of 87th. I also have plans to compete in the future. These future events include the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, Service Above Self Memorial Day 5k, and Oddyssey Half Marathon. These events will hopefully prepare me physically and mentally for my ultimate goal to run in the Boston Marathon.
