In the great town of Ambler,Pa, a small store that is called Ambler fireplace and patio that sells Fireplaces,Grilles,and Patio Set. I have worked more then 9 year to connection customer to what their needs are. I take the role of leadership ability to gather pricing, the pitch and the closing to reach the goal of our sales of the quote of the week. When I was hired at my first job, I had no idea what I was doing. My boss was a great example of leadership ability. I was guided into the right direction to become a great member of a hard working team. Now I’m at my most recent job and I am in a position where there is a great deal of leadership skills involved. I feel leadership skills take time to accomplish. It is not an easy task to become a leader overnight. You basically start from the bottom and work your way up. When I first started my most recent job, I did not become a sales associate on the very first day. They had me train and then work in various positions before accomplished the top position of sales man. I am now in the position where I can lead a team of people to success. It took time, patience, understanding and focus on the goal. The goal was to sell for an example a ten-thousand dollar unit of a fireplace. A Sales Associate is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per Company standards, generating sales, merchandising, and safeguarding company assets.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.
- Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
- Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping
- Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise and monitoring floor stock.
- Aid customers in locating merchandise.
- Communicate customer requests to management.
- Assist in completing price changes within the department.
- Participate in year-end inventory and cycle counts.
- Assist in ringing up sales at registers and/or bagging merchandise.
- Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager.
I absolutely love my job, in fact it is so much more than a job, it is a lifestyle and career. I worked in the warehouse in the beginning of the 9 years and climbed up the ladder to become a sales men. It was not done over night, therefore i had to plan, work hard and develop an skill to get the job done.You meet amazing new people and see sides of people you would never otherwise see. I work Part time during the semester in College and full time during summer Break.
