Robin Givhan Returns to ‘The Washington Post’

One of our favorite fashion writers and critics returns to the paper after a four year hiatus!!!

In a release from the Post‘s Executive Features Editor Liz Seymour, the paper announced that Givhan will be writing for the Style section full-time beginning in June, and will be covering fashion “as a business, as a cultural institution and as pure pleasure.”

Over the last four years since she left the Post, Givhan held the position of fashion correspondent at The Daily Beast and Newsweek, has written for Vogue magazine, has covered Fashion Month for New York Magazine‘s The Cut and is working on a book, entitled “The Battle of Versailles: The Night American Fashion Stumbled into the Spotlight and Made History,” which is due out in March 2015. In addition, she’s been freelance writing for the Post for the past year.

Word has it that Givhan was a top contender for Cathy Horyn‘s position as chief fashion critic when she left The New York Times—the FT‘s Vanessa Friedman got the gig, and will start next month—but we’re so happy she’s making a homecoming and can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to the Post. Congratulations!
