Community Service
During the months of December 2011 and January 2012 I volunteered for the Care and Share Thrift Shoppes located in Souderton, PA. I volunteered in the furniture department (picture to the right) where I assisted the manager in moving, cleaning and washing the furniture in order to get it ready for sale to customers.
This past October 2013 I took part in the National Beach Clean-up day. This was an event hosted by Temple University’s Office of Sustainability, which took place on Atlantic City’s boardwalk beaches. We walked along the beach picking up undesirables such as cigarette butts, straws, paper, cups and even a tire! We also collected data based on the type and amount of each item we found. This info was then sent into an ongoing survey about trash on beaches.
